Manton presents Harvest Festival

MANTON -- The Manton Area Harvest Festival will kick off Friday and continue through Monday.

Events Friday will include a midway from 6 to 11 p.m. and music by the Jack Pine Pickers from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Other Harvest Festival highlights include chainsaw carving and music each day, a craft show Saturday and Sunday, children's games and a talent show Saturday and a hymn sing Sunday.

The festival will close Monday with a parade at 10 a.m. followed by a concert by the Scottville Clown Band at 11:30 a.m. The day also will feature a car show, horse pulls, a lumberjack competition and more

What started as a Labor Day Field Day in the 1920s has become Manton's largest event. For more information, call 824-3585 or 824-6134.
