Woman was Miss Traverse City contestant

Joanna England responded to a request for information on the Traverse Area Historical Society archive photo that ran in the Community section on July 23.

The photograph was of an unknown woman pretending to wash a stage floor.

England noted that the woman in the photograph is her sister, Molly Pulcither.

She believes the photo was taken in 1945-46 when her sister was trying out for the Miss Traverse City pageant. England said her sister graduated in 1945 from Traverse City High School, and that their family resided on Ninth Street for several years.
