Reader Les McCain III submitted this photo taken in the mid- to late 1940s at an outdoor rink in Traverse City. McCain says the rink was located almost adjacent to the train station and just to the north. "It was taken in the mid- to late 1940s just before my Dad went to MSU on the GI bill," says McCain. "I can identify my Dad (front row, second from right) and Clayton Sporre (front row, far right). Clayton was the coach. Also one of the Bauer boys is in the picture and is in the second row, second from the right with the 'A' on his jersey."
