TRAVERSE CITY -- The Grand Traverse Conservation District's annual R.W. Summers Fly Rod Raffle to benefit the Boardman River had its most successful year ever, selling all 1,000 tickets and raising $10,000.

During the grand opening of the Boardman River Nature Center, Diane Parsons' winning ticket was drawn for the grand prize of a handcrafted fly rod, made by Bob Summers, an avid Boardman River fisherman and enthusiast who has been building and restoring bamboo fly rods since 1956.

All funds raised will be used to restore the Boardman River.
