Kaskinen awarded Eagle Scout rank

Joshua Kaskinen, of Beulah, received the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award on Nov. 29. Kaskinen, son of Lisa and Michael Kaskinen, is a member of Troop 10, sponsored by Blaine Christian Church in Arcadia.

Kaskinen has earned the Arrow of Light, God and Country, Order of the Arrow, was a chaplain's aide at Philmont Scout Ranch and attended the Hessel International Camporee.

His Eagle Scout project was to paint and install shelves in a storage shed at Memorial Park in Benzonia to benefit the youth soccer and baseball programs.

Kaskinen is a senior at Benzie Central High School and is a member of the band, cross country, ski and track teams, National Honor Society, Key Club and Close Up.
