The TBAISD Career-Tech Center recently hosted the 2007-08 Region V SkillsUSA competition. SkillsUSA is a national organization serving more than 240,000 high school and college students and professional members who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations.
On February 12, students competed in a variety of areas including power equipment technology, commercial baking, residential wiring, industrial motor controls, automotive service, criminal justice, and construction trades. A competition for welding students will take place on February 22, in Muskegon.
The following students have earned the right to attend and compete at the state SkillsUSA conference April 18-20 in Lansing. Regional contest winners are:
