The Traverse City Rotary Club has selected their students of the week
-- Bradly Martin, son of Ted and Theresa Martin, is a senior at Traverse City St. Francis High School.
Martin has served as Student Council representative and president. He is also treasurer of Junior Achievement. Other school activities include football, wrestling and freestyle wrestling. Martin was recognized with the Pat Schmeltzer Spirit Award and Most Valuable Scout Team Player in football. He is captain of the wrestling team.
Plans after graduation include attending Northwood University and majoring in hotel, restaurant and resort management.
-- Alexandria Ward, daughter of Thomas and Carol Ward, is a senior at Traverse City St. Francis High School.
Ward has served as captain of the St. Francis Colorguard, member of the Pom and Dance Team, Junior Class Student Council vice-president, Praise team, Glad Friends and Junior Retreat Leader.
Ward also skates for the varsity high school figure skating team, where in 2006 she placed sixth in the state for individual intermediate freestyle. She was also a member of the school state championship figure skating team. Ward is also a competitive and synchronized figure skater for Twin Bays Skate Club. She also volunteers and coaches skating for the club.
Ward has volunteered for, and now works at Grand Traverse Veterinary Hospital.
Ward has been accepted to attend Adrian College. She plans to study pre-med and skate with Adrian's synchronized skating team.
