Michigan State University Honors College, East Lansing, Michigan -- Marci Baranski, a junior majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology, was named a 2008 Udall Scholarship nominee for the university. Baranski, a graduate of Traverse City Central High School, has received honors for her academic work including Cole and Akers Study Abroad scholarships for her studies in New Zealand and a William Sells Scholarship from the College of Natural Science. She plans to pursue a PhD in sociology and a career studying environmental policy and its effects on local communities.

DePaul University, Chicago -- Vanessa Taylor and Rachel Stockwell, both of Traverse City, have graduated. They each earned a bachelor of arts from the College of Arts and Sciences.
